NAF: Establishment of Operation Commands to Meet Security Challenges

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has said that the establishment of its special operation commands is to meet the demands of changing security environment in the country.
The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar, stated this at the official commissioning of small arms and other projects at the NAF Base, Bauchi weekend.


Abubakar said Special Operation Commands and other units of the Force is working round the clock to find effective ways of dealings with security challenges across the country.
According to him, the measure became imperative due to the security challenges witnessed in some parts of the country, recalling that recently the Force has deployed over 300 personnel in Zamfara State.
He also said with the enabling environment created by President Muhammadu Buhari to NAF, it had reactivated 13 of its aircraft.
Speaking at the occasion, the Bauchi State Governor, Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar, said the establishment of the NAF Base in the state has contributed positively towards safeguarding the security of the state.
The governor, who said NAF has demonstrated professionalism and discipline in the conduct of its operations, expressed the hope that the shooting exercise will improve the performance of the personnel.
